Rumors from 2026 Combine in Indy
After winning Super Bowl LX just a few weeks ago, the team has had to pivot instantly to the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine.
After reading through updates and news reports, it seems likely that there will be several key stories and updates from the Seahawks’ camp as the event kicks off February 26, 2026.
The Super Bowl Hangover is a Logistics Problem
Based on comments and news reports, their scouting department has been on an accelerated timeline. The have likely had to conduct their backboard meetings to consider the final ranking of prospects around the events leading up to the Super Bowl. While other teams have been studying tape for two months, the Seahawks might be catching up on study time leading up to tomorrow’s Combine start in Indy.
Mike Macdonald’s Coaching Staff Shuffle
Head Coach Mike Macdonald has been finalizing his staff after losing offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak to the Raiders. The big news at the Combine is the official introduction of Brian Fleury as the new OC. It seems that there won’t be any more departures from the current Super Bowl-winning staff.
Injury Updates: Charbonnet and Horton Under the Knife
Through updates, it appears that RB Zach Charbonnet (knee) and rookie WR Tory Horton (shin) both underwent surgery recently. While the team is optimistic about Charbonnet’s recovery, neither player will participate in any spring workouts. This makes scouting fresh talent at running back and receiver a sneaky high priority this week.
The Kenneth Walker III Contract Shadow
The Indy Rumor Mill is buzzing about RB Kenneth Walker III’s future. With Dallas recently signing Javonte Williams to a 3-year, $24 million deal, that contract has become the floor for Walker’s negotiations. It seems eminent that Schneider will soon meet with Walker’s agents, maybe this week, to see if a long-term extension is feasible or if the team will have to look at the draft for a potential replacement.
Draft Capital: Quality Over Quantity
Unlike last year when they had 11 picks, the Seahawks currently hold just four picks in the 2026 Draft. Because they are Super Bowl champs, they have a bunch of picks that occur late in their respective rounds at Nos. 32, 64, 96, and 186. With only four picks, they will obviously need to be careful, and they will likely focus heavily on fit and culture during the Combine interviews to ensure they don’t miss on their limited selections.
